魁阁即“魁星阁”，它是费孝通当时的研究基地，位于昆明市呈贡县，建筑为三层小楼，其中木梯连接，形制传统古朴。费孝通倡导的魁阁研究，理论和实际密切结合，每个研究人员都就自己的专题进行实地调查，然后参加集体讨论，个人负责编写论文。
